Excellence In Life Mentoring.
We CAN Leadership Institute platform.
The programme aims to provide a forum to mentor young Africans who are motivated to excel in their life and also contribute to the transformation of Africa for good. The mentees are Africans. The mentors are inspirational Africans who are living an exemplary life and are able to share their career and life journey as lessons for the next generation.
The programme brings together African mentees and mentors who are passionate about leadership, purpose and most importantly transforming Africa to become and be a first-class continent in our generation.
The programme also provides an opportunity for young adults to network across their nation and Africa – sharing, learning and together walking the journey of making Africa a great continent for all Africans.
The vision of EIL is a new generation of African leaders, who are effective through excellence in all spheres of life. Our goal is that every EIL mentee will be excellent in life.
The Structure
EIL programme is initiated in countries in Africa. Since it started in September 2015, as at December 2021, there are five EIL chapters across Africa; Nigeria, Ghana, Sierra Leone, Tanzania and Uganda. The plan is to have EIL in all countries of Africa. Each country chapter is a cluster of nationals of that nation. All countries together form the EIL Africa network.
Each country/City EIL platform, through a leader, engages with initiatives that raise awareness, engage policymakers and make an impact in that country. The role of an EIL Country leader is to motivate the group, generate ideas and mobilise actions.
The Approach
Each year, We CAN Leadership Institute, through its various programmes has a thematic focus. This theme shapes the teaching, mentoring and coaching activities for the year. EIL also engages on a societal issue to educate, inform and challenge the young adults as leaders to step up and act. We will initiate and collaborate with others to educate, inform and initiate solution-focused projects to mitigate the impact of the pandemic in Africa.
The EIL Africa platform meets every month for the virtual leadership mentoring CONNECT with inspiring African mentors from across the continent. EIL members are invited to present and share their initiatives, giving them opportunities to showcase their talents and abilities.
